Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@steamrollerco.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Contrast Therapy involves alternating between hot and cold exposure, so blood vessels dilate (when hot) and constrict (when cold), creating a “vascular pump” effect that reduces inflammation, eases muscle soreness, and stimulates circulation. Benefits may include:

  • Faster Recovery
  • Reduced Swelling
  • Improved Circulation
  • Pain Relief

Our standard communal sauna sessions are 60 minutes, allowing enough time for multiple rounds of hot and cold exposure, including rest. The amount of time you spend inside the sauna is at your discretion; however, we suggest you spend no more than 15 minutes in the heat then take a cool down break before you repeat.

A staff member will be there to guide you upon check in for your sauna session. During your session, the amount of time you spend inside the sauna is at your discretion. We recommend you stay for as long as you feel comfortable (for most people this will be no more than 15 minutes). Once you feel hot enough you can head outside for a cool down break, take a dip in the water (if you like), or rest until you’re ready to enter the sauna for another round.

Some helpful tips:

  • Do not ‘push through’ if you’re feeling unwell
  • Hydrate, before, during and after your session
  • Avoid eating a heavy meal before your session
  • Dry yourself with a towel before entering the sauna

No, you don’t have to take a dip. When you feel hot enough, you can just cool down outside, rest, then re-enter the sauna when it suits.

Our cedar barrel sauna has a panoramic half-moon window, glass door, and stone filled electric heater designed to enhance the quality of steam and deliver an enriching sauna experience. A protective heater shield, safety railing, and ceiling heat shield are also provided to improve safety, increase heating efficiency, and help redistribute warmth.

The sauna is cleaned with a non-toxic and eco friendly Eucalyptus and Clove oil cleaner that has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties; combined with the intense heat inside the sauna this helps to create an environment that is unfavourable for the growth of microbes, promoting a hygienic, cleaner space. The sauna is also made from cedar wood which has a natural resistance to moisture, decay and insect damage.

If you’re feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you reschedule your session and get well soon.

Bookings may be cancelled for a full refund or rescheduled provided a minimum of 24 hours' notice is given. This allows us sufficient time to re-book your slot.
